If you are like many Americans, these days, taking time out from the extreme politics and scandals, is a must for self- and family-care. Consider an outdoor trip to rejuvenate. I feel very fortunate my parents started us kids off … Continue reading Rejuvenate in Nature! @brownpeoplecamping
It was an exciting day at the San Francisco Mint on March 04, 2017. What a great turn-out, over 6200 people walked through the historic Mint halls and restored public rooms where miners and savvy businessmen alike traveled to exchange their gold for newly minted dollars and coins. Today, The Mint serves the City for private and public events, and is slated to be converted for a more consistent use. The building has a wonderfully expansive feeling on the street level, with some of the larger rooms- long glass windows, and smooth stone floors – reminding me of the feel … Continue reading ‘Specks of Gold, Hidden Treasures’ – Screening and Presentation in San Francisco – Flor de Miel Media
At the Brava Theater in San Francisco, Poets & Writers West brought together Bay Area writers with seasoned, successful agents, publicists, and writers for a day of honest, straight-forward discussion about writing today, and the creative ways authors are reaching audiences today. Let it be known that Literature and Poetry are far from lost arts, resuscitated by expanding marketing by way of technology, and the broadening list of authors that self-publishing and growing content markets reveal. As someone who has come into the Literary world by way of invitations to publish that lead to my first publications, and, as a … Continue reading San Francisco and Bay Area Literary Community Sustains Generations of Authors – Poet & Writers

I’ve been working behind the scenes on breaking down the ‘Open Doors’ preview – I was quite surprised by the impact the creative process had on me personally, opening doors in ways unexpected. I am grateful to grow and develop, and learn each day. As that work continues, here is a new spoken word poem I wrote this week. This time, I have a recorded reading. I am available for readings of my spoken word poems so reach out by email if you are interested in booking a reading. (email@example.com) I am also available to screen ‘Bridge Walkers,’ and talk … Continue reading Flor de Miel Media presents ‘Narco Beauty and La Environmentalista,’ spoken word poem read by Catherine Herrera
I want to thank Audible Observatories 2012 for the invitation to preview ‘Open Doors‘ which officially launches in 2015. San Francisco is a very meaningful place to me to launch a new anthropological archive of the Ohlone people – ‘Open Doors‘ involves an inter-generational process focused on healing. The entire Ohlone community is the center of ‘Open Doors’ and for 2013, ‘Open Doors’ presents a model for facilitating dialogue that can travel and be of healing to other communities. The Ohlone Youth Cultural Revitalization is fast at work creating a new generation of art, writing, music, song and revitalization of … Continue reading Still Healing…’Open Doors’ preview before 2015 Official Launch
